Community Guidelines

TikTalk is a Northern Ireland community for real people. These rules apply to forums, Live Chat, profiles and private messages.

Content that breaks these guidelines may be edited, hidden or removed, and accounts may be warned, restricted, suspended or permanently banned. Serious matters may be referred to the relevant authorities.
  1. 1. Respectful discussion

Disagree all you like — attack the argument, not the person. Keep debate civil, assume good faith and give people room to have a different view. Northern Ireland topics can be sensitive; discuss them like adults.

  2. 2. No harassment or bullying

Do not pile on, follow someone around the site, post repeated unwanted replies or messages, mock someone's appearance, disability, background or personal circumstances, or encourage others to do so.

  3. 3. No threats or violence

Threats of violence, wishing harm on someone, glorifying violence, or content that intimidates a person or group is removed immediately and can result in a permanent ban. Credible threats may be reported to the authorities.

  4. 4. No hate or abusive content

No attacks based on religion, community background, nationality, race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age. Sectarian abuse and slurs are not allowed here in any form, including 'banter'.

  5. 5. No doxxing or private information

Never post addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, school names, car registrations, screenshots of private messages, or anything that identifies or locates a private individual — yours or anyone else's.

  6. 6. No impersonation

Do not pretend to be another member, a creator, a business, a public figure or TikTalk staff. Usernames that imitate official TikTalk or system accounts are reserved and blocked.

  7. 7. No spam

No repeated posting of the same content, mass tagging, engagement farming, follow-for-follow chains, bot behaviour or unrelated self-promotion. Rate limits and duplicate checks apply site-wide.

  8. 8. No scams or fraud

No fake giveaways, phishing links, crypto or investment schemes, 'money flip' offers, ticket resale scams or requests for payment details. Report anything that looks like a scam.

  9. 9. No explicit content

No pornography, sexualised content, gore or shock content. Nothing sexualising minors, ever — such content is removed and the account permanently banned.

  10. 10. No illegal content

Nothing that breaks the law: drugs sales, weapons, stolen goods, pirated material, hacking services or content promoting terrorism or paramilitary activity.

  11. 11. Posting images and videos

Only upload media you have the right to share. Don't post images of other people in private situations, of children who are not yours, or media containing personal details. Media can be reviewed and removed by moderators.

  12. 12. Copyright

Credit creators and don't re-upload someone else's work as your own. If you own content posted here without permission, contact support and it will be removed.

  13. 13. No false or misleading claims

Don't post fabricated news, doctored screenshots, or unfounded accusations about named people or businesses. Rumours about local creators are not a licence to defame anyone.

  14. 14. No targeted harassment campaigns

Do not organise or join efforts to mass-report, brigade, expose or 'cancel' a member or creator. Threads created purely to attack one person are removed.

  15. 15. Repeated rule breaking

Warnings escalate. Repeatedly breaking the same rule after being told leads to suspension from posting, chat or messages, and eventually a permanent ban.

  16. 16. Moderator decisions

Moderators and admins may hide or remove content, edit or lock discussions, issue warnings, suspend or ban accounts, and restrict media. Every action is logged. If you believe a decision was wrong, ask for a review through Contact Support rather than reposting the content.

Seen something that breaks these rules? Use the Report option on the post, reply, chat message or profile, or report a problem. Safety advice is in Safety & Privacy.
